As a staff member at Wollangarra you’re an essential part of a small community based around a truly unique outdoor and environmental education program and lifestyle. The Wollangarra philosophy is about doing rather than talking and fixing rather than complaining, so your days will be filled with hard work and a strong sense of purpose.
The position requires that you reside on the Wollangarra property. You will live and work with four to five other staff members and the directors. Wollangarra becomes your workplace, home and family for the year. This brings lots of laughter, fun and adventure. The role is highly physical. Your time at Wollangarra will offer a challenging, but immensely rewarding experience. For the right person, this is an experience of a lifetime.
This position comes up yearly and will be advertised via our website, social media and newsletter between September and December each year. For further details on the Outdoor Leader position, please download the position description from the files below.

The Wollangarra Director role is a once in a lifetime live-in position suited to either an individual, a couple or a young family. The Director/s are the heart of our strong community for their time at Wollangarra, and each new person in the role brings with them new knowledge, experience and personality that adds to the vibrant Wollangarra story.
This is a challenging, but immensely rewarding experience that enables directors to have lasting impacts on the lives of young people, inspiring them alongside the Victorian mountains. This hands-on role is exciting, dynamic, varied in which no two days are the same. It centers around overseeing the running of our outdoor education programs for young people that are inspiring, safe and effective, training and managing a staff team, maintaining the Wollangarra homestead, facilities and equipment and administrative tasks.
This position is a voluntary role and Directors are provided with board, training and a monthly honorarium. The Directors role comes up every 2-3 years. If you are interested in the role, we will advertise via our website, social media and newsletter. Feel free to get in touch with our Council Chair, Ross, if you have any questions businessmanager@wollangarra.org.au
The program manager role is only available if required when there is only one Director or when Directors do not have a background in Outdoor Education with the necessary experience for organising, designing and implementing high quality and safe outdoor education programs.
The program manager is therefore someone with qualifications in outdoor education and appropriate experience working in the field.
This position could be a 1-3 year position, depending on Directors tenure. Should this position be needed, it will be advertised via our website, social media and newsletter.
